Users

This section of the Truedat administration module lets you create and manage users and groups. Users can be created directly in this administration screen or through integration with an authentication service, such as Active Directory. This section describes how to manage users directly in the application. It does not cover authentication system integrations.

Users

We can perform the following actions on the user screen:

User registration

To register a user, the following information must be entered:

  • User: the username entered when logging in to the application.

  • Email: used to send notifications in some features.

  • Full name: used on screens that display user information.

  • Type:

    • Administrator: has all privileges and can perform every action in the application.

    • User: a standard user whose permissions are managed through user roles.

    • Service: for users that need API access.

  • Groups: groups to which the user belongs. If you enter a group that does not exist, it is registered automatically.

  • Password: required to log in to the application.

  • Password Confirmation

Edit user

The following data of an existing user may be modified:

  • User name

  • Email

  • Full name

  • User type

  • Groups to which it belongs

Details of a user

Click a username to view the user's details. If the user has an assigned role, you can see its domains. Roles may be assigned directly or through group membership.

Delete User

Once a user is deleted from the application, they will not be able to log in again. User role assignments in domains will be deleted.

Change Password

Administrators can set a new password for any user.

Search

A search engine is available to locate a specific user.

Groups

This section lets you create, edit, and delete user groups.

New group or edit group

You can create a new group or edit an existing one. Both actions use the same fields:

  • Name

  • Description

  • Alias: if you add an alias, it is displayed instead of the name. For example, it appears in forms and filters. This is useful when groups are created automatically through an authentication system and need a clearer name.

  • Users: select the users who belong to the group.

Delete group

Deleting a group also removes:

  • Membership in the group for affected users.

  • Role and permission assignments to the group in any domain.
